Hy Guys,

1.If booking a flight from Capetown to Durban for Mid October should I book now or would the fares be a lot higher closer the time as in when Im in Capetown?

2.Could Anyone recommend fishing charters they have been on or does anyone know where would be the best place for me to look for them in Capetown?I was thinking of Staying on Long St but If there is an area closer to where Charters depart.I would change accomadation plans.

3.South African Rand should I buy that here in Ireland or Change Euro For rand at the Airport in CT?

Thanks Very Much for the help :)

Hi,

Here are some tips on when to book plane tickets. I would consider buying the tickets now, just to be sure that you have space and that there isn't a price increase. You can also subscribe to the Mango, kulula and TravelStart newsletters (among others) since they often advertise specials. You can use TravelStart to compare prices and book through them or on the airline's website if it is cheaper there.

As far as I know when traveling overseas you generally get the best exchange rate when using your credit/debit card for purchases and drawing money from a local ATM instead of exchanging money. It might be a good idea to check how much your bank charges for foreign transactions though and maybe try to get a card that has no extra admin fees. Here you can use your credit card almost everywhere at hotels, restaurants, shops, tourist sights etc. It is best to avoid carrying large amounts of cash so maybe consider just drawing R500 or so for small purchases and tips.
