Will look into it all and check it out. The Game Parks look amazing - we are getting really excited about it and know that we'll have a great time whatever happens.

Thanks for all your help.

The game parks are great! Give yourself a decent amount of time, don't rush it. Good luck, hope you end up seeing lots.

If you fly up to Johannesburg Rather go to Pilansburg national park 2 hour north of Johannesburg because it is smaller then Kruger the animals are more concentrated and you are more likely to see more. There is nothing artificial about Pilansburg. Plus there is Sun City right next door which is a huge complex of fun for you guys and trust me the kids will love the valley of the waves, which is a huge water park with wave pools and slides. Hire a car from Johannesburg book 4 nights in Pilansburg National Park and use 1 or 2 days to go to Sun City.
Check out these sites for pilansburg and Sun City
http://www.sun-city-south-africa.com/default.asp<BR>http://pilanesberggamereserve.com/index.html<BR><BR>Pilansburg has all types of accommodation from Camping all the way up to 5 star lodges
So it will soot your budget.
Hope this helps

Your chance of seeing the "big 5" is better in Pilanesberg than Addo, I believe. Addo is great, no excellent, as expected - for elephants. But lions... only 1 pride. Leopard... rumour of 1 or 2 but very seldom seen.

Anyway, "big 5" is erm... how can I say... not what it's about. Sure they're wonderful animals but please don't go out with a tick list to see them and end up disappointed if you don't see them. Hippos can be very entertaining... so can hyenas... dwarf mongooses (mongeese?), etc. Wild dogs so rarely seen they should also be on the list... wonderful social structure... cheetah.... you get the idea?!

Big 5 originated from the most difficult animals to hunt.

To learn more about the different animals, I'm sure it will enhance your experience! African Safari Pictures

Try to book ahead... Easter is a busy time in parks : ) And, enjoy!
