Hi everyone,

does anybody know whether there is a good diving or snorkeling location in SA, preferrably near Cape Town (or only a daytrip from Cape Town away)??

Hi Emma,

There are many diving sites around the Cape Peninsula, it all depends on what you are looking for and when you will be here. Bear in mind that CT is not a tropical warm-water diving location, the water is around 12-15 deg C. By international standards (Eg Barrier Reef / Red Sea) visibility can be pretty low, too.

My advice to you is to contact Pisces Divers in Simonstown and ask for their guidance.

Best snorkelling is in the sub tropical waters of the east coast at Kosi Bay just before the Mozambique border.
Diving Sodwana bay or Aliwal Showl but all miles away from Cape Town.
