Hi Dianne!
Before reading your post, I had actually booked a kulula flight for R299 from Jo'burg to Cape Town, on 19 July. Quite a good deal. But R99 for a room is even a better deal, considering the cheapest dorm bed in a decent backpacker hostel goes for around R110!!! However, I went back to the site to find this out, I was unable to find this rate for the Protea hotels (the rooms seem to start at around the expected R300). Did you have better luck?
Best!

Javier, I couldn't take advantage of this since I was just in SA a couple of months ago (I think there would have been a small revolution in my household had I told my husband I was going back so quickly). I noticed the sale was to start at 6 AM today and I bet there weren't oodles of rooms available at this rate. I wonder if anyone had any luck....
