About CBD, Arthur, I'm sure the term is not unknown in the States, but it's a big place and you don't hear it where I'm from (Boston). "Downtown" and "The Financial District" covers the CBD here.
But thanks to you and Rudi for the info. I hate to be the clueless American ;)

missalaska, HOOK,LINE AND SINKER. i have just proved that there are indeed an 'amiable" (the way I see it)bunch on
LP.Furthermore I had lots a fun with the amiable bunch and I thrive on being the odd one out. That has
brought me VERY FAAAAAAAAAAR in life. You shall have to bear with me. It takes many kinds to make
the world go round. I'm not too bad either. I shall be a pain in the _ for a loooong time coming.
Love to all. CuriousDIVA

Dit is baie duidelik. Dank Vader !!

Rudik, you too! Shame- You clearly do not like taking your own medicine. But we expected that.
Just to explain: Thank heavens there are people who get on with everybody else, their in-laws (can just
imagine what they are up against)(they need to contact me) ,and fellow countrymen and the global planet. It seems some just get on with the people on LP and fit in nowhere else, thats why they spend
so much time on LP. Must be very unfulfilling. Clearly this amiable bunch(who probably spend weekends
together too-by the sounds of it) have a long way to go and I suggest grow up.
I have a full life and do not have time anymore en is nie meer lus vir julle speletjie nie. I hope you've had
your FUN AND WILL SPEND YOUR TIME MORE WISELY AND YOUR ADVICE IN FUTURE.
YOU CERTAINLY NEED IT.

Sshh.

Brace yourself Arthurtjie, for the last more than 10 years myself and my husband started an initiative
on our own (with our own money and no outside or government help) whereby we organize 40-50
fundraising events per year for less fortunate schools. That brings in R750 000-00 for the less fortunate, and in 10 years that would give you plus-minus R7,5 million that we give back to our Countries
people of other races (might I add). So I have quite a bit of LOVE. mY fires have brought me far in life
as I said. Thats why I travel 80 000,00km a year with my car and have travelled 2 miilion km in last 10
years in this country alone.
Now you shall see the light ....that I do have reason to feel a bitty-bit fired up about you know what.
But these and these people are the things that have made me who I am. I really mean something to
the human race and I know it.
I do not spend my time disecting words, spelling mistakes and peoples character and judgement.
I get on with it.
I wish you 'amiable' bunch would too. At least we can hope that with time youll get there.
LOTSA LOVE TO ALL ANYHOW FROM THE WESTERN CAPE
(and give the Boere a break now and again - they're not all the same)
Enjoy your weekend. I'm leaving for mine. To my next carnival (fundraising event).
YOURS TRULY
THE ONE AND ONLY C U R I O U S D I V A !!!!!

Sociolgist: I'm going to PM you. My thoughts and opinions of getting work in Cape Town are not appreciated by RudiK and I refuse to get into a shouting match with him.
I take the train three times a week from the CBD to Bellville and then a minibus from Bellville to UWC. On occasion, I take the bus from Mowbray to Bellville as well. I've been doing this for months and months. I feel my thoughts and opinions on the matter will be just as unpopular to some.
I have never experienced any trouble on the train. I am not saying that the trains are totally safe, just that my experiences have been fine. Compared with 3 years ago when I was taking the train here, there are many more white people on the train. while this in and of itself means nothing, I tend to see it as the trains becoming more safer - white people tend to be paranoid here and if more white people are taking the train - something must be changing. Also, compared with 3 years ago, there are more security guards on the platforms and on the trains. While I never feel AS safe on the trains as I would in Canada, I feel fine as long as I keep my head about me. I know what lines NOT to take and when to take the trains I do. I've never seen anyone get mugged or harassed either.
Trains will only become safe if people starting taking them. This is whats happening.
As for the minibus, sure, they are hair-raising. And on Thursday I experienced the straw that broke the camels back. I WILL LEARN TO DRIVE NOW! But it wasn't because I was in danger. I was just pissed off at being pushed around by a driver who wanted to place me in the back of the minibus when I would be the first person off!!! Once again, you have to know what routes are safe.
The actual bus is safe also is you know what route to take. They are very uncomfortable however.
I will pm you with my thoughts regarding work.

Rian, I do not know what I have said or done to upset you, or how I disagree with you so much that we should get into a shouting match. I don't remember ever getting into an arguement with anyone on TT, unless you consider my recent disagreement with Chris Bekker (the Travelling Artist) as a shouting match. There are some that I disagree with, but they give their opinions and I give mine - never a shouting match, I hope.
On a previous occasion you also mentioned something similar. You are too far away for us to discuss this over a beer, so please PM me and tell me what this is about.
