Hi all,

So i'm till planning our trip to SA in November.

We're going to be in Cape Town for 2 nights before flying up to PE and going to Addo Elephant Park for 2 nights. Then we'll fly back to Cape Town for another 4 or 5 nights stay. Can anyone recommend some accomodation in Cape Town please? We'd be looking for Guest Houses or hotels?

There's just so much info around I can't decide where is best to stay!

Guest houses/B&Bs are fine, so are backpackers, I'd avoid hotels... what are you looking for regarding accommodation?

We are staying at Dunkley House in Cape Town in November. It had good reviews on Travel Advisor and the person who confirms the space seems very helpful. They have a web site..looks pleasant. Enjoy your stay.

We stayed here last Dec Bantry Bay Guest House
The owner is very friendly and helpful and you are conveniently located. We really enjoyed our stay and I highly recommend this place

We have a favourite guest house - Sunset Beach in Kommetjie. It's not in the heart of the city, though.

Not sure what your parameters are - if you are more specific about area and price I can be more helpful :o)

This depends largely on your budget.

budget would be anything up to 100 euro per night.

I'm open to suggestions on location. I've read a lot of the threads re:Cape Town and still can't decide where we are going to base ourselves!

That's quite a lot...

You could do Breakwater lodge with that or even Cullinan Hotel. Latter is at the entrance to Waterfront and the other is on the other side of waterfront.

Thanks, will look those up.
Might stay in one of them for the first two nights.

Where would people recommend along the coast? Bantry Bay?

I stayed in the Breakwater a few years ago. Location is brilliant, rooms can be small, but very nice. Would recommend it. Plus, when we went to Stellenbosch, stayed in a lovely place called The Green House. Unfortunately, I can't find a link. Well worth it if you're doing a wineland tour, plus Stellenbosch is a great town.
