Hi I'm on holiday in Cape Town for 2 weeks from 11th November and just wanted some advice on where to stay. I'm a 28 year old solo traveller So will be looking to stay in hostels to meet fellow travelers to socialise and maybe enjoy a few nights out with. I might also look to stay 2/3 nights in a nice hotel to really relax later in my trip. Any advice or recommendations appreciated.
Cheers:)

For backpackers, look at Ashanti, Once, Cape Town Backpackers and Atlantic. They're all in great locations and I've heard good things about each of them.
I love Cape Town, its such an amazing place. Gardens would be my first choice, as there are plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, cafes etc. in safe and easy walking distance. The backpackers mentionned by Ghalied (I dont know Atlantic) are all in a very good location (in Gardens) and great places to meet other travellers.
For your 2-3 nights splurging in a hotel: if you are looking for a modern hotel, the Protea Fire and Ice is in a good location and has a very good breakfast buffet. The rooms are very small, but with all that you need. Its modern and design style, and has a small pool. If you prefer a more boutique hotel, Welgelegen and Trevoyan are both lovely small places, in a great but very quiet location, and with a lot of love for detail.
I was in Cape Town last month for a week , i highly recommend yo u to stay at Blue Gum Guest House at Merriman Street, it has view of Waterfront and Cape Town Stadium.

Does anyone have any recommendations for accommodation in V&A Waterfront preferable not exceeding 100 USD? Im really grateful for help

Most of the accommodation that is right in the V&A is quite (very) expensive.
One of the cheaper option is the City Lodge, which is located at the entrance to the V&A https://clhg.com/hotels/180/City-Lodge-Hotel-Victoria-and-Alfred-Waterfront-. Its on a busy square/road, so I guess its not the most tranquil place (I have never stayed there, so personal experience). I quite like the Protea Breakwater, the location is better (and more quiet), but its probably a bit more expensive http://www.breakwaterlodge.co.za/.
Consider staying in nearby Green Point or De Waterkant (both in easy walking distance to the Waterfront), where are there more options that fit your budget.
Hi ghalied and others, I am also looking for accommodation. I have come across all of the hostels mentioned by ghalied. Which would you recommend? I will be staying in a dorm to keep the costs down, but am not interested in a "party hostel" and usually feel happier not staying right on a main road. Thanks!
Probably Ashanti (though get a dorm away from the bar) or Cape Town Backpackers (the road is busy with traffic but not with bars and restaurants which are half a block away). Atlantic should also fit, but its on the list because a couple of people have told me they really liked staying there so I'm guessing but in terms of location it should be the most peaceful.
