Hi all,

I've been very new in Africa, just been in Kigali-Rwanda for 1 week, working on a project of USAID. I am quite boring here, and really want to get out to discover many places in the country. Do you know any backpack travelling group here that I can join? Or just some groups of Western students or volunteers are ok.

Thanks
An

I suggest you subscribe to the kigalilife group in yahoo (you'll need to set up a yahoo account for this). Lots of posts about things going on which you might not hear about otherwise; also lots of adverts from people selling things when they're leaving the country, so you'll have to put up with that too! It's a good place to advertise for other Westerners to do things with, like take trips at weekends.

Another alternative is to hang out where the foreigners go and get chatting to people - try Bourbon Coffee in UTC (or the other branch in the MTN Centre), Blues Cafes (near to UTC), or some of the restaurants featured in the guidebooks.

Good luck!

Are you not boring other places? I agree that getting out and exploring could make you more interesting. ;-)
