I was recently in Rwanda and discovered that the prices of hiking in Volcano Natl. Park have skyrocketed (at least for Karisimbi) and I just want to give a heads up to anyone interested.
Karisimbi - a two day climb - is now a whopping $400 and Bistoke - a day climb- is $75. Transport (from pretty much any agency or hotel) to the park is $80 for the car for the day. The fees above include a guide, not sure about a porter and I'm pretty sure there are no meals involved.
If you're considering doing Karisimbi for $400, I would recommend going over to Goma, DRC and hiking an ACTIVE volcano for $200 - Nyriagongo. It was fantastic! (and very cold)
