Hostel & Short-Term Luggage Storage in Kigali?

I'll be arriving in Kigali in early January with a week or so to spare before starting a two year volunteer job. My plan is to find a secure place to drop the majority of my stuff and go on a short r & r trip to Uganda. Could anyone recommend a cheap hostel for my first night in Rwanda and/or a place where I might safely deposit my gear for a few days? I noticed a reply to another query that mentioned a hostel run by St. Michel Cathedral. Does anyone have contact information for it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
