I have had a terrible time getting a hold of someone at NWR regarding bookings for Etosha National Park. We originally had a provisional booking for 4 nights at Etosha and then our sales rep never got back to us. Since then, I have called their main reservations office and they say they only have one night available in the park.

I have managed to get my dates and ideas sorted out. Below is my itinerary. To those experiecned travellers out there, any ideas and suggestions to make?

Hi all

We are going to be in Namibia in November/December and hoping to camp outside Etosha as the camp sites are so expensive. Does anyone know of any good campsites outside the park? Also, are we are going to enter with out a tour guide can anyone advise me how easy it is to spot wildlife and are we really missing out by not camping at a waterhole in the park?

Any tips would be really helpful.

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to get from Windhoek, probably The Cardboard Box, to the international airport - eg bus, taxi, etc. I guess I am looking for all options, not just cheapest.

Also anyone who has climbed the dunes before, what are the best sort of shoes to wear - joggers/sandshoes or boots.

I was wondering whether anyone has any experience of the intercape between Livingstone and Windhoek. I am on a trip that ends in Livingstone and need to get back to Windhoek - any thoughts?

Hey, is it possible to bush camp in Namibia or do you have to stay in designated campsites? The ones I've looked at so far aren't cheap...
