Hi all,
Could you share your recent experience with rent 4x4 Double Cab Camping Equipped?
Currently the best offer we get from advancedcarhire.com, but there are too many negative reviews about them and their cars.
carhirenamibia.com - also mainly negative....

ascocarhire.com - comsi comsa.

To be honest I think the any such small company has some problems.... and question mainly in quality of their currently available cars.

If you rent such car recently in Windhoek, could you please tell briefly…

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone is planning on staying at Waterberg Wilderness and would be willing to bring a book to one of the staff there. I stayed there last year and have bought a present for one of the local guys working there (a book on the birds of southern africa). Annoyingly I've lost his home address so thought I'd ask if anyone is planning on staying there and would be willing to bring the book and a few photos with them. I'd obviously pay the postage to get it to you.

You might…

I would love to travel to Namibia with my family - husband and 2 kids. How much should I budget for daily? Don´t know whether we would rent a normal car and stay in lodges/hotels or rent a 4x4 wheel with roof top and camp. I guess it would depend on price. We have travelled extensively all over the world before, but never in Africa.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi

Planning to do an accommodated budget tour possibly from Cape Town to Windhoek. Can anyone let me know if they have used the following companies and found them reputable? Are their prices too cheap to be true?

African Overland Tours/Escape 4 Africa
African Budget Safaris

Or any tips on itinerary planning for two weeks welcome, as distances to travel seem vast (up to 8-9 hours on some days)

Thanks!

Hi,

In october we (5 adults) hope to go to Namibia. We are thinking of both camping and staying in hostels/lodges. Are there plenty of hostels in the important places and how easy is it to find rooms where you can stay with 5 people ? Maybe dorms or rooms which accommodate 4 people adding an extra bed. Is this done ?
By the way, how cold are the nights in october ? Any recommendable offices in Capetown where we can rent a car ?

Thanks for any kind of information.

Nicky

Is it possible to drive from Johannesburg to Windhoek in one (long) day? According to Google Maps it's slightly shorter than Joburg-Cape Town, which takes about 12 hours plus stops. So it seems doable, except that there are 2 border crossings which presumably take a bit of time. And I'm not sure about the state of the roads or the number of animals crossing them.

If it's lunancy to attempt, then where would you overnight? I want to head up to Etosha the next day so would prefer to stop closer…

Hi All,

This one's killing me! My wife and I doing two months southern Africa. we're going to do a 7-11 day self drive camper 4x4 in Namibia, return from Windhoek.

There appears to be mixed feelings about Fish River Canyon as to whether or not it's worth the drive to. I have no great desire to spend time in Aus or Luderitz (unless someone convinces me otherwise), so the canyon will be massively out of the way of everything else. Will also be going on a Kamuka trip that will cover…

Hello,

I'm going to Namibia next weekend.
In the Republikein there's an article about a flood -Efundja- coming form Angola to Namibia. They say it might be impossible to go to the north of Etosha because of the flood. Anybody heard of this?

Tnx, Sigrid

Hello, did anyone travel in Namibia and Botswana in solo? Should I rent a car? Is it very expensive? Do you recommend it?

Thanks

Hi,

I'm going to Namibia for two weeks in March. Pretty much a standard tour that everyone else does. We're going to rent a car in Windhoek and I was wondering if we need a full size SUV or a mid size (like toyota RAV4 or similar) will be okay?

Thanks
