we are planning to go to namibia at the begining of march for 2 weeks
Do you know if march is a great period to go there ? which kind of weather
We are planning to go to the national park of etosha by car, it is a good idea with the weather there ?
If you have any advice , just let us know

March is in between the rainy season and winter... so renting a car and going to Etosha is perfectly doable. It will be also less busy - but you might want to book ahead anyways your accomodation in the park
NWR should still be running their "seasonal specials" giving you quite good discounts. Check their website at www.nwr.com.na

I did this late Feb last year and had no problem. As there is a lot of water around the game can be harder to spot but still well worth the trip. Seasonal discounts would be a big bonus as the park fees are something else!

I've planning renting a 2wD next March and some friends, who live in Namibia now, tell me that this year there is a lot of rain and a lot of gravel roads will be very difficult to to with a 2wD due to rivers crossing even if there is no rain in the next days.
I don't know what can I do to cope with this.

It is true that it has been particulary raining this year in southern africa. I was in Namibia in December for 3 weeks and we didn't see any rain though. In Botswana it was another story - I guess northern Namibia might be more problematic than southern...
I've received this info today : "The road between Solitaire and Sossusvlei is closed and not useable and anything south of Aus and Helmeringhausen is also not open to travel."
So Southern Namibia is also problematic this year, unfortunately.

According to Oshakati Country Hotel, the B1 road between Windhoek and Oshakati is unobstructed, as is the C46 road between Oshakati and Ruacana. However all the gravel roads surrounding the area are waterlogged and may be flooded again at short notice. These roads should be avoided, and SHOULD NOT even be attempted in a 4X4.
