Hi everybody, last year we visited Namibia first time, great, we did Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Damaraland, etosha and Windhoek, starting from Windhoek.

Now in november we want to fly to Cape Town, drive north to Namibia, the part till the border we now already including winelands but we want some time to stay there again, and do the south of Namibia and fly back from Windhoek.

NOW MY QESTIONS:

    • does anybody now a nice village or guesthouse just before the border to Namibia,( we drive the fastest route from Cape Town to Namibian border)
  1. What are the highlights, the must do things for south Namibia? Of course fish river canyon, but what is the best and most central place to stay in a guesthouse, hotel or resort? we like the better ones, luxury

3) what other must do in south? or secret tips from you of off the beaten track, we have a 4x4

Thanks a lot!!!

you might also consider spending 1-2 nights in the kalahari desert. i have stayed at intu africa http://www.intu-afrika.com/ and really liked it. they have 3 lodges, zebra is the most luxurious one. i havent stayed there myself, but also heard good things about bagatelle kalahari lodge http://www.bagatelle-kalahari-gameranch.com/.

a very nice place to spend the last 2 days or so in namibia is about 30km south of windhoek. goche ganas http://www.gocheganas.com/.

Do you by any chance read german? If yes, google 'NamibiaForum.ch' lots of good advice there.

In the south I would go to Kolmanskop if you like ghost towns, on the way there you might be able to see the wild horses and the quiver tree forrest close to Keetmanshope is recommended also, sorry did the same route you did, but that's what I want to visit the next time in Namibia.
