Okay, so it looks like I've got 4 full days in Namibia. At this point, I plan on flying in and out of Walvis Bay (from Jo'burg). Or should I fly into Walvis Bay and out of Windhoek, just to see what Windhoek has to offer?
I absolutely want to see the Sossusvlei sand dunes and, since I'll likely be spending a night or two in either WVB or Swapkomund, perhaps see the dunes near Swap as well.
How is the HI hostel in Swap?
What else...What about the "moon landscape" north of Swap? Any thoughts on if this is worth seeing, or how long a visit here would take, including self-driven transport?
Any coastal drives around Swap or WVB? I suspect that the Skeleton Coast is too far away....Any waterfalls within a couple hours of Swap that will still be flowing in early June?
Finally, if I DO spend my last day in Windhoek, should I worry about safety, or is it fine there (I really don't know, except that Namibia in general seems very safe compared to other places in Africa)? Any thoughts on the small game park (with zebras, warthogs, kudu, etc) 17 km outside of Windhoek?
Sorry for all the questions...and WISH I had more time....
Thanks in advance for any replies,
HS
