Honeymoon in Namibia

Namibia could be spot on for you: plenty of luxury around and no challenging travelling. I assume you'll have a car (no point going to Namibia if you don't, to be honest) so you'll be able to set your own itinerary and you'll be able to get pretty much anywhere you like unless you're planning on Van Zyl's Pass or Bushmanland (which I wouldn't unless you're driving something a bit more robust than a sedan).

Re weather in April, probably not boiling but can't remember since it's a while since I was there. Fab destination for a honeymoon though - great choice!

sossus dune lodge is an ideal honeymoon place. just spend a couple of days and chill out. another great place was okahirongo elephant lodge in purros (slightly more difficult to get to - and pricey). if i were going on a honeymoon, these are the places i would spend a couple of days at. be sure to plan your trip well - namibia is vast and you don't want to spend your entire trip driving (we did 5,000 kms in two weeks - ouch!)

forgot to mention one thing - i would get an suv. we were there in mid-march, and roads in the north were really bad after the rainy season (4wd only)

This year the rains were particularly good (or bad depending on your point of view!) and lasted a long time. I travelled in April 07 and the rains had gone by then but with worldwide climate change there's really no guarantee. Main roads are good but rains will hamper you if you are planning many gravel road trips. great country to travel in though.

take a look at kuangu kuangu. Defenitely honeymoon material!

In Namibia in August in part for my 50th birthday and my treat was Mushara bush camp outside the east end of Etosha. Most expensive 'tent' I've ever stayed in but boy was it great!
