Hi,
I would like to know if anyone have any guidance on travelling round Namibia without a car. Really hard to find if you can get around with mini-buses or "regular" buses. I would like to go from Swakopmund to Sossusvlei and then also to visit the Himba tribe. Appreciate all inputs :-).

hi petra
i dont think that it is possible to do this with public transport.
you might want to look at http://www.african-extravaganza.com/Shuttle/shuttle.html for the swakopmund to sossusvlei journey.

getting into the kaokoveld (for a visit to a himba tribe) without a car or not being on a tour - i dont think that this is possible.

Very difficult tp travel to out of the way places in Namibia without your own transport. There are public busses (limited) and shared taxis but they tend to go only to the major towns. It should be possible to pick up a small tour (preferably locally run) to see the "tourist" spots
