Hi, we are planning to go to Namibia next July and, since we are a family of 4, we would like to find a "not-too-expensive" flight. Our starting point is ROME but we could easily fly to another European city with a low cost flight if this would help us save money. Do you have any suggestions? THANK YOU!
I think that there are a very limited number of direct flight from Europe to Windhoek : Air Berlin does and perhaps Lufthansa.
Otherwise, it is usually a fligh via Johannesberg. However, there are now flights from Windhoek from Angola, if you fancy a bit more adventure !

Hi,
I did the Frankfurt - Namibia with Air Namibia once but it was difficult to to book because the idiots thought Canada was a part of USA and therefore we had to book our tickets thru USA.
As a result the 747 was 50% loaded on the trip.
Hate to think what it is like post 9/11.
Thier web site will not even book flights.

As far as I know (or as I can remember) Air Namibia out of Frankfurt and Air Berlin out of Munich are the only ones with direct flights.
South African Airways flies out of Frankfurt, Munich and London changing planes in Johannesburg.
British Airways flies out of London changing planes in Johannesburg.
TAAG flies out of Lisbon changing planes in Luanda.
