Chalet accommodation in Etosha and 2WD cars

Hello,

My partner and I would like to spring for one night of luxury accommodation while at Etosha. I have reviewed the NWR's website and cannot reach a decision. It seems that Okaukuejo is a lot busier and perhaps might not be as restful or romantic even if we were in a bush chalet? Any feedback?

Also, given our itinerary and route I am planning on renting a 2WD car. I have heard that it is better to get a 2WD car with higher clearance and better suspension. Not being much of a car person what kind of 2WD cars does this leave me with?

Depends how much solitude and peacefulness you want I guess? Okakuejo can be busy but to my mind when your inside your chalet its as romantic and peaceful as you want and when your outside your either game watching, eating at the restaurant or swimming/drinking! NWR have a new luxury accommodation in the park. Its more isolated and exclusive and probably comes at an exclusive price - I think its called Onkoshi. Did you see it on the NWR website?
As far as car goes - forget all the stuff about high clearance etc etc. Standard, cheap 2wd is perfectly fine. You don't need better suspension and higher clearance only gives a slightly better view of game but its not that much different. Just get whatever the budget/personal preference dictates.
