Ariamsvlei and Nakop border close between Namibia and South Africa

Article in today’s newspaper (09 Feb 2011) it was announced that the border post at Ariamsvlei/Nakop close to Upington is closed due to roads that was washed away over the past few days’ heavy rain. This is a main border post between the two countries. The closest border post for travelers will be either at Rietfontein or Velloorsdrift/Onseepkans. Repair to the damaged roads will take more than three months.
