Hi there
Does anyone now good addresses of affordable lodges in or near Etosha?
I really do not need the + $ 500 per person lodges.
I am just looking for nice spots if possble with respect for nature (eco friendly)

Thanks guys!

Namibia Wildlife Resorts run the camps inside the Park. http://www.nwr.com.na/

Close to the Anderson gate we use Etosha Safari Camp which has comfortable chalets at a reasonable cost and tariff includes breakfast. They also have a nice bar and restaurant area. We enjoyed local folk singers in the evening when we were there. It is only 5-10 minutes drive to the gate.

On the other side we use Onguma Bush Lodge. Very good professional food and service yet low key feeling set in the bush. Very nice bungalows and quite reasonable cost.

I would highly recommend you spend at least a couple of nights inside the park itself to get the full experience of the flood lit camp waterholes at night. Particularly Okaukuejo but we also have had incredible rhino and lion sightings at Halali waterhole.

Thanks for your info. I was told that food in the parks ran by the NWR is not so good and it's better to find accomodation outside the park. But you hear many things :-)

I'm afraid I would agree that the food offerings at the three main camps inside Etosha is not the best. We self cater if we stay in the park but if you do that you need to get your supplies outside the park as the park shops are not the best either.

The food at both the places I mentioned is excellent particularly Onguma.
