Help!
I'm looking to spend about a week in the vicinity of Tofo in Mid December...and as time creeps on I'm panicking about finding a place to stay.
Where can two people stay in basic but comfortable (not dorms or tents) accommodation in this area. I'm just looking for some recommendations from people who have stayed in the area...Barra /Inhambane are also fine.
Or can you suggest somewhere else that has good diving/ snorkelling and Whale Sharks?

Try Bamboozi Lodge in Tofo. I stayed a couple of weeks ago and got an A-frame chalet for a very reasonable Mets 1500 per night (per chalet, not per person). That was low season so the price might go up in December but I thought it very good value. They did say they were pretty booked out over Christmas and New Year so you might struggle to get a booking.

Baboozi are also doing huts for 280 right now, as basic as they come; a bed, four walls, a roof and a door :-)
we just spent 8 days at Fatimas as it was the only option for camping (other than Turtle Cove but thats 10 mins walk from the beach!). Fatimas has a great location and the food is probably better than a lot of the other beachfront options (none are as good as either Black and White on the market or Casa De Comer however, Dinos menu especially is vastly over priced). I would not recommend Fatimas though as the staff can be lazy and inept.

I would advise to book asap, i spent 4 months there July-November, i know everything's getting very booked up for december. Best places are Bamboozi beach lodge (liquid dive centre also attached) as well as Turtle Cove... u can camp at Turtle Cove. John's place in town is also good
GOod luck and enjoy!
