Hi,
My husband and I are travelling from Botswana to Malawi overland, and obviously have to go via Mozambique.
We will be travelling on Aust. Passports, unfortunately there is no consulate in Aust.
It will be an extreemly costly exercise if we have to get a visa prior to departure.
Is it possible to either get a transit visa, as we will literally be only travelling through Mozambique for 24hours (possibly less), or can we get a re entry visa (may be able to rearrange the holiday so that we can spend more time in Mozambique), or is it extreemly difficult to get the visa upon entry.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a bit confused as to why you feel you have to go through Moz to get from Botswana to Malawi since a 'normal' route would be Kasane-Livingstone-Lusaka-Chipata-Malawi. Presuambly you're looking at something like Francistown-Bulawayo-Harare-Tete-Blantyre. In any case visas are available at most borders (certainly including those main ones) for most nationalities of which I'm pretty sure Australia would be one.
