Hello all!

I'm requested your help to organize my trip to Mozambique in December. With my husband, we're not so keen of crowded places, and we're afraid that southern Mozambique will be a bit too much for us! ;)
What would you advice us to do? Vilenkule? Beira? Ihla de Mozambique?

Thanks! Muito obrigada!

If you have the second half of december in your mind, I'd recommend, to spent your time in Mocambique as far north as possible, because it's the time of South African summer holidays, which means, Mocambique will be full of South African campers. Between 15th dec. and approximately 7th jan. each year, they invade and occupy the country, and because 99,9% do this by car... the more south, the more crowded it'll be.
So... at least Beira.

Hi

I live in Mozambique in the South near Inhambane in a village called Tofo. It's very authentic, relaxed and rustic not at all like Vilanculos which tends to cater for the more commercial, up-market traveller.

Kind regards

I'd go as far north as Ilha da Mozambique if you can... the further away from the south the better to get away from the masses! Oh, and Ilha is very charming!

Avoid Baira as it's not the best place for vacatons. Ihle de Moz is nice and I don't think it ever gets crowded. SAfricans don't rather go there as road through Central Moz is very difficult.

Ypu can also fly to the nort - Pemba to explore area there - nice beaches around and Qurimbas Islands.
