Mozambique in April - advice please

Hi everyone

I'm owed some time off from work and I have a friend who is currently working in a dive shop in Tofo. She's invited me to come and visit her in April.

Having never been to Mozambique before I was hoping for some tips on how best to get to Tofo if I'm a single girl travelling alone - and what else I should definitely see in Mozambique while I'm there. I can probably spare about 2 weeks of which I'll probably spend a week in Tofo (unless that's too long?) so I guess I'm really looking for just a couple of other unmissable places to go which are relatively accessible seeing as how I don't have much time and will be travelling alone.

Advice about how to get around as a single traveller would also be appreciated.

Which date do you expect to be there, and where are you coming from. I will drive somewhere around 20th of april from Johannesburg to Tofo.

If you only have 2 weeks in-country and you're going to spend one week in Tofo then you may not leave yourself too many options. I am assuming travel to/from tofo will take up another 2 dayson top of the week in Tofo so for the rest of your time you may want to explore Maputo. Unless you can fly around, the distances mean that you'd be v limited in where you could go.

Hi All!

I'm a Canadian based in Swaziland but looking for some time in Tofo in mid-late April to get some diving in. Without transport - I'd be definitely interested in learning how you are getting there or if you have space for another traveler!

Ideally, I would be headed to Tofo on 19th April and back about a week later.

But can be flexible as we have a few public holidays around that time... Please do message me if you have a ride/looking for travel buddy/can offer advice.

Hello!

I am similarly looking to visit Mozambique (currently living in Malawi) for 1-2 weeks, and would like to get out of Maputo if I do so. Would love to hear how others have managed this, or arrange something if anyone is travelling out of Maputo towards Tofo (or elsewhere on the coast) sometime in April.
