Hello everyone,

I'm going to be making my first trip to Morocco at the end of June and I couldn't be more excited. My husband is temporarily stationed there for work, so I'll be visiting him for two weeks with my parents. I've been doing some research and I'm getting a lot of conflicting information.

First on clothing. Everything I've read says you can either wear whatever you want, or tells you dress more conservatively. I believe in erring on the side of caution and dressing more…

Hi all, I'll be going to Morocco soon with my girlfriend. One of the things we'd like to do is a guided tour through the Atlas mountains and the Sahara. We're landing in Marrakesh and were thinking to do one that starts there. We found a four-day, private guided tour that starts in Marrakesh and ends in Fez, seeing many spots along the way. This seems ideal, because then we can continue our holiday from Fez and don't have to start in Marrakesh again.

For all the tours we found in our guides and…

Back in 2007 we stayed in the "Complexe Touristique de la Kasbah" which was very close to the kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. Does anybody know if it still exists, maybe under another name? It does not appear n the usual booking websites.
Other accomodation recommendation are also welcome, close to the kasbah and some 30 euro/night (2p).
Thanks,
Meeuw

I travelled about 11 days in Western Sahara in January 2016 and another 5 weeks through Morocco proper.

Here are a few things which might be helpful for your trip.

I came from Mauritania, via the epic ride on the iron-ore overnight train to Nouadhibou and later travelled from Nouadhibou, Mauritania to Gargarate, Western Sahara/Morocco and on to Dakhla.

Get a taxi (maybe an occasional public transport) from the town centre of Nouadhibou ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE NO-MEN-LAND TO THE MOROCCON…

Random Tips on Morocco proper:

Marrakech:
The best view down to the action of Djemaa el-Fna for sunset or at night is from Café Glacier.
Apart from general rambling; visit the young acrobat team of two teenagers, the amateur boxers (kids and youth) , the charlatans (one carries a big reptile which is happy to change hands and get petted for a while) and the snake charmers with their cobras and vipers. Be aware that after you take their photos they will demand ridiculous sums. Stay firm and calm…

Hey guys,

me and my friend will be travelling to Marocco this May and we would love to take a desert tour starting in Fes going through Merzouga and several other cities and ending up in Marrakesh.

The approximate dates of the trip are 12.05 - 14.05

We are looking for the fellow fun travelers who will be in Marocco during the same time and would like to join us for this trip to share this great experience :)

Looking forward to hearing from you!

We're planning to drive a circuit Marrakech - Dades - Merzouga - Draa - Marrakech in September.
A day in the Atlas is on our wishlist. Possibly Imlil or Asni, but it takes quite a lot of driving time from there to the Tischka pass.
Does a visit to one of the Atlas villages near Todra give a similar "Atlas impression", or does that costs a similar driving time (counted as a detour from the Draa route)? I'm thinking of Imilchil, Midelt or Azrou.
Thanks, Meeuw

Hi all!

I'm planning a trip to Morocco for august this year and I would love to do a trekking at the Toubkal NP. We want to do the trekking without guide (we are quite experienced/trained with hiking and carrying our gear and use GPS and a map/Moroccan trekking guide for navigating). The route I planned:

Imlil - Tizi Oussem
Tizi Oussem - Refuge Tazaghart
Refuge Tazaghart - Refuge Toubkal (via aguelzim)
Refuge Toubkal - Summit Toubkal
Then back to Imlil via Aroumd.. , Does this sound like a good…

Hi there, hopefully somebody here can help us.. We're planning a two night stay in northern Morocco arriving by ferry around lunchtime on a Tuesday and returning Thursday morning. We'll arrive in Tangier and are wondering what people would recommend doing/seeing/visiting in such a short time. I was thinking of Chefchauoen one day and night, though I have already been before and would rather see something new. If there is anyone here who could recommend something else I'd be really grateful…
