I might see Morocco in Aug. I am thinking after Marrakech to see the Atlas mtns or do a camel trip in the desert (i know it will be hot). For the towns in the Atlas and other Berber towns, is it generally suggested to take a tour or do it independently. I like photography, so I like to take my time in some areas and like flexibility of doing it on my own, but transport issues seem to suggest traveling with a tour is easier. Anyone can comment on pros and cons of each.

Also, the 4 day camel…

Hi There,

I'm looking to hire a 2 seater van with space in the back (ideally a VW Van) or even a small camper with space to set up a small office in the back. I don't want a huge camper van as no one will be sleeping in the van, it is for the purpose of creating a little studio/office in the back that has space for a few laptops/monitors.

If anyone knows of any hire companies that do vehicles which fit this description I would be v grateful if they could comment with details.

All the best,

M…

My friends and I will be in Marrakech next week. One of them is celebrating a birthday and he loves tacos. I'd love to find a mexican restaurant to take him to. Any chance of finding real tacos anywhere in the city? The only place I could find through googling was O'tacos, but they didn't look too authentic. We are staying in the Medina nearish Jemaa el Fnaa, so close by would be good, but a cab ride is okay too.

And before someone says it, yes, I understand we are in Morocco but we have a…

Hello,

I am looking to book a long weekend away from 9th - 14th September, and was considering Morocco. My plans were 2 days in Marrakech followed by 3 days in the Atlas Mountains. However having researched it looks like Eid al Adha will begin on 10th September. What impact would this have on our trip? Would shops and restaurants close? I am assuming if we had accommodation and transfers booked in advance that would not be a problem?

Any advice greatly received :-)

Hi Everyone -
We settled on a Feb 2017 vacation to Morocco from Washington, DC (new RAM direct service to Casablanca). We will be bringing our 3 year old who has been to Hong Kong and Israel. The big difference from those trips is we spent each night at only one apartment for the entire trip. We know Morocco requires domestic travel and want to keep to a slower pace. Our approach to travel is NOT hitting every location (even before kids). We love cities and find these best with our…

Hi fellow travelers,

a friend and I will be going to Morocco from the 22nd (arrival in Marrakesh) to the 31st (return from Fez) of July 2016. We are currently planning our itinerary and we'd love if some of you could help us out with that in terms of places to see, time to spend in each place, distance (time) to cover among places and if it would be better to catch public transport or to rent our own car (I checked online companies but they're quite expensive, would it be better/cheaper and…

Hi all,

I am a Dutch anthropology student, and for research and travelling me and some other students will be in Morocco this summer. We want to travel from Tetouan to Al Hoceima. I do not want to make it too expensive, so can anyone provide me with information about travelling this route? I don't have a car, so travelling by bus/train/taxi will be the best for me/us. Is is possible to make a one day trip (so Tetouan - Al Hoceima and back) on 1 day? And how much approximately will it cost, if…

Hi all,

Me and my girl are planning a trip through Morocco this summer. We will be spending some days in Fez and want to work our way down to M'hamid from there. One of the places on our list is the Todra Gorge, but I could use some advise on which route to take (much advise online is a few years old). We are renting a 2WD vehicle, so are looking for paved roads only.

Route 1: From Fez take the N8 till El Ksiba, and after that the R317 and the R703 till we get to Tinghir and have been amazed…

hey guys and gals,

We are a Canadian Chinese couple and we will be in Marrakech from July 1 to July 5, and we are looking to do a 4 day/3 night Sahara tour from July 6 to 9. I inquired a few companies and got quote for around 330EUR per person (based on two people). We are looking for 2-4 additional folks to join us and for a 6-people group the price could possibly drop to 160EUR per person, for 4 days 3 nights, including driver, guide, accommodation, dinner. Please pm me if you are interested…

Hi,

I will be travelling to Morocco from Sydney in about early/mid January 2017 and I was wondering which tour company would be better? The options I'm looking at are:
Gecko Tours - 14 day Moroccan Highlights ($1,224)
Intrepid - 15 day best of Morocco trip ($1,550)

Obviously value for money is an issue and I want to see all the highlights while I'm there. I've read that with the Intrepid tour some time is wasted where you go to see how things are made and its sponsored by the company so that you…
