Hi, I am travelling to Morocco with my 13 year old son, and I really want to take him to Erg Chigaga to experience dessert, the remote, and the camel! We want to make up numbers for a small group shared tour, as it would otherwise be prohibitively expensive. I am used to independent travel, and not looking for 5* treatment or accommodation, and preferably for a 4 day, 3 night trip, with a circuit south of Ouarzazate. I love to visit weekly market in the small towns and villages.
Do these weekly market still on as usual if the weekly market fall on Fatih Muharram / Muslim new year ?
Would the weekly market close entirely or a grander market during Fatih Muharram festival day?

Im looking at either taking a private or group tour from Marrakesh to Fes via the Sahara for five days. Very few websites show any prices as I suppose it depends on the size of the group but Im trying to get a ball park figure to see whether its best to hire a car and do the trip myself or go via a tour. Car hire seems to be approx 350-400 DM per day which seems fairly affordable. Once I add meals, fuel and accommodation it seems cheaper for two people to hire a car instead of a tour.

I'm planning to have a 15 days (April - May period) trip to Morocco. I've heard wonderful and amazing stuffs about Morocco. I've itinerary in mind. I'm still skeptical about the desert tour/ might be too tiring due to tight schedule. My mode of transport will be bus/train.

Day 1 : Casablanca (Arrive)
Day 2-3: Casablanca / Rabat
Day 4-6: Chefchaouen
Day 6-8: Fes
Day 8-10 (Desert tour)

I am currently planning a trip to morocco and am trying to book my ticket from tangier to amsterdam through airarabia and the overnight train from marrakech to tangier on the ONCF website using my canadian CIBC Visa card. We are looking for a reliable local tour company to advise us and tailor a realistic (we only have seven days) tour for us. I have heard of a company called Lets Travel Morocco, however I can't find them recommended on any of the threads on Lonely Planet. Can anyone recommend this company or advise me of another that they have experienced?

Thinking of getting away for a couple of days trekking from Marrakesh in Mid-February and hoping to do it cheaply. Could anyone recommend a nice area where I could do a few day treks?I was reading up on Imlil and that looks like a good option but I don't know would the weather be okay in that region or are there nicer places. we will be arriving and departing from Marrakesh on the first week of February and have three days to go around.
We would like to pick a destination taking into account that: 1) We have already visited Fez, the Atlas, and Ouarzazat area. 2) we are looking for a place that is warm (not below 20 C) to escape the cold French winter . What would you suggest?
