Hello,
I am arriving by ferry in Tangers around Sep 10th. I'd like to go to Chefchaouen for a couple days then I need to go on to Casablanca.
Are there buses going directly from Tangers - Chefchaouen and Chefchaouen- Casablanca? Is grand taxi possible? I'm used to transport in Morocco so am happy t take local transport, just not sure where and how from and to Chefch.
Thanks,
Mishko

Please, this is a serious question. It seems to be very popular and I´ve read some tour descriptions (which make it sound elegant-can´t imagine) but just don´t get it. I´ve lived in Calif a good part of my life and the desert never seemed any to special.
I am 60+ and not very "ourdoorsy". I´m don´t want to miss out on a chance of a life time, but don´t want to be miserable either . I don´t want to trekk and hike all over the place, so if that is the idea I´ll be happy to miss it. I´ll be…

Hi everyone,
I've got a question about a desert trip in Morocco and have browsed through the whole Morocco branch, but can't find the answer.
In October, I am going to Morocco for a week with my mom. I have been to Morocco before, and then I visited the desert at Merzouga. My mom would really like to see the desert as well, and since we are flying to Marrakech I figured it would be nice to go to the desert at M'hamid.
From Marrakech, we would like to go to the desert by public transport, joining a…

Hey all

I'm off to Marrakesh next thursday and am looking for a great book to read!

I'm looking for something that combines fiction with perhaps some historical accounts of Morocco's history, or failing that anything to capture my imagination of Morocco! (i've just read the Bookseller of Kabul so something like that it, i.e. interesting and engaging!)

So if anyone knows of how great reads then please do let me know!

thanks

Thank you all for your helpful posts about my upcoming trip to Morocco. Have now ditched the desert plans and will stick to Marrakech and Essouira . Have spent hours now on the web trying to decide on accomodation and am totally overwhelmed by the choice . The web is great but wasn't it so much easier back in the days when you just picked the first one on the list in a Lonely Planet guide !

Anyway - what I am now looking for in Marrakech is somewhere with a pool (will it be hot enough to swim in…

Hello! I am thinking of spending January and maybe some of February in Morocco.

Ideally I would like to take a three week Arabic course (Modern Standard Arabic, not the Moroccan dialect, as I think the former would be more useful throughout the region) and then spend a week or two hiking and camping. I will be traveling alone and yes, I'm a woman. I have been to more than 30 countries alone, hiking, and only had a big problem in one (Tunisia) with constant harassment, men following me, etc.

My…
