I have read the books, I have searched through the previous topics and yet I am still unsure. I have 10 days in Morocco - and because I wasn't thinking properly when I booked my flights I fly in and out of Marrakesh (instead of into Casablanca and out of Marrakesh).

Sept 27 - Fly into Marrakesh, spend the night
Sept 28 - take the 1st train to Fes (I have to meet a friend there - that part is not flexible)

Then we were thinking of spending a few days in Fes, going down to the High Atlas for a…

Hi,

Going out to Morocco to meet the other half in 3 weeks and need to get to Ourzazate. I can't drive and wondered if there was a bus or camel(!) that might take me. I'm fairly adverturous but will also be a lone female.

Appreciate any advice. Will also be going back at the end of October and would welcome any good experiences of riads or hotels in Marrakesh and on the coast.

cheers Emma

Hello.

Been scouring the topics in Forum, and found out some useful things about drinking alcohol (cos after 5 days with my mum I may need a sip of beer!) and it sounds like Dubai, and other predominantly muslim nations.
, but was wondering about a few other things:

My mum and I are arriving in Marrakesh Early October - Ramadan time - so know there will be restraints on eating and drinking. Would we be able to eat lunch or snacks during the daytime? What about smoking ?

Staying at Riad Terrace de…

I'm thinking of a short trip travelling down this coast at the end of November (yes, I know the weather will probably be crap!) Would be interested to know what people think of these places, and if they have any particular recommendations. Low budget.

Hi,
A friend and I (both female) are looking for some trekking around Marrakech in December 2007. We want something fairly challenging but also to get some good views and a bit of local culture. We'll have 3 or 4 days so don't want to travel too far but could go south as afterwards we have to get to Agadir. As we've got limited time we'll probably go on an orgainsed trek. Any advice on where to go/who to go with would be gratefully received! Will there be too much snow to climb Toubkal? Is…

Just read LP's warning about constant men hassles. Any youngish women out there who have travelled alone - is it really that bad? Touts I can handle but I don't really fancy being propositioned at every corner or intidimated by mobs.

Hello all!
I am hoping to go to Morocco for 10 days starting around the 18 of September. I know it is last minute, but is anyone else going to be there around this time and would like some company. Do you think I will be safe as a young girl traveling alone?
Thanks!
Carolyn

What are the requirements for a visa for Mauritania in Morocco? I don't want to have to go straight to Nouakchott to extend the one given at the border so would prefer to get it ahead. Cost? Are there onward ticket requirements? Letter from the embassy needed? We're from Canada and the US though I doubt that makes a difference. I have the option of picking one up here in Cairo but I doubt if I'll get through Morocco fast enough for the validity.
Thanks

howdy... I'm planning a trip from japan to ethiopia and was originally planning to also visit morocco for about 3 weeks...after numbercrunching every possible route i could think of it turns out flightwise it would be a fair bit cheaper to visit turkey instead...morocco was my first choice as i spent a week there many moons ago and have always meant to get back there but turkey of course would no doubt be fantastic too...so if morocco is considerably cheaper than turkey it might work out about…
