i doubt it's actually dangerous, just depends what you can put up with... the night trains are generally packed so it's unlikely you'd be left in a compartment with some seedy character..

I suggest you purchase your train ticket for 1st class, yes it is more expensive but it tends to be safer, cleaner, better and not crowded at all. In 2nd class (trains in Morocco are either 1st class or 2nd), it's usually the opposite.

When you are ready to buy your train ticket, if you don't tell the cashier you want 1st class, he will automatically tell you the fare for 2nd class and give your 2nd class ticket.
