Hi all,
We want to do some trekking in the Atlas mountains in Dadés or Todgha Gorge.
1. Is there any of the two gorges, which which should be the priority to see? How is the possibility for trekking at these places (we would like to do a two or three day trip)?
2. Is it easy to arrange a guide upon arrival at in Tinehir or Boumalne? Is there other places, where it is better to find the guide?
Hope you can assist with answers to these questions.

In my opinion:
--Dades Gorge is more scenic and offers great photo opportunities.
--Todra Gorge probably is better for trekkiing and rock climbing.
I don't know about guides, sorry.
Depends what you mean by trekking. Walking, yes, but you want to be a somewhere like the Mgoun or Bou Thrarar at least to trek, I'd have thought.

hi ,
Check out this website to know more about the south of Morocco :
www.ouarzazate.com

have a nice holiday .

You can do a great trek for 3 days between the gorges, starting in one and ending in the other. You can easily arrange this by asking around in Tingehir. I know a couple of walking guides who do this route. try Youssef at the Auberge les 5 Lunes in Dades. They now have a website. He speaks reasonable English and is a lovely guy. But just ask in town and many people can help you

I just returned from a trip to Marocco where visited all the spectacular Dades Gorges. I basically drove all the 66km until Mesermrir where the road ends. There I stayed at the Hotel Agdad from where the next morning, together with a local habitant/guide I took a spectacular trek up the valley, through the vilage and a bit up the mountain. If I had continued this trek for one or two days more it would be possible to meet the nomads that live in the mountains. From what I could gather, and because the road ends in Mesermrir, this is the most trakable part of the region. Everything else is always very close to the road, nevertheless spectacular.
I can really recomend this guide that I used, I think the only one in Mesermrir. I think I kept the hotel contact, so if you want to plan something specific e-mail me and I'll put you in touch.
Cheers, have a nice trip.
