..... Steve, an incident today where a dog tried to chew my bicycle tyres reminded me of a similar incident near Tatoudannt long ago.... did you have any problems with loose dogs on your mammoth road trip.

Sorry to hear about that. You know, I was warned about dog incidents before I arrived in Morocco, but I hardly even saw a dog in my travels....if you can believe that? Plenty of cats for sure but, no dogs.
The worst dog problems I've had to deal with have been in India where there are large packs of them ranging free and causing all sorts of problems....Bolivia and Peru also!!
Arrived in Bangkok last night and I expect there will be some "dog issues" in my bike travels here....
I've always found that if you stop, pick up a stone or large rock and make like you're going to throw it at the dog ( but don't ) they tend to shy away from you. If you have a loud voice, I've also found that if you yell really loud at them, they freak a bit and back off.
