I am going on an organised trek in the high atlas sleeping in huts at around 3000m a couple of nights.

The guide has said a 3/4 season sleeping bag but I think this will be too much. Any opinions? I appreciate it is a lot colder at altitude.

I will have warm clothes and thermals....

You probably will need it. Having camped for years in the U.S. mountains, it is miserable being cold at high altitude at night (makes you have to get up to pee lol). Camping in Morocco in the desert, I still needed a sleeping bag, and it was HOT during the days.

It depends what else you have. This winter at about 1700m I used a fairly light bag plus two good blankets and I was fine. It's always a problem knowing what to take. I dithered for months. But as Marocfan says it's better to be safe than sorry...
