I am going to morocco 17th October. I'd like to do some gentle trekking. Is this a good idea alone or should I try to team up with others. I have found this problematic in the past as I'm a bit slow compared with the mostly younger travellers I met.
Also I'm a bit worried about eating in restaurants etc. alone as the guide books I've read seem to think this a problem for women - or will my mature years (59) innoculate me from hassle. Any recommendations in Marakesh would be gratefully received

I am in your age and travel alone in Morocco since 21 years. Here you can read more: Women travel alone
I love it, that is why I come back every year. And I eat in restaurants, go to coffee shops, do all what I want.

Thanks Edith. that was very reassuring. What a great site - it reflects my own philosophy - by travelling alone local people are more likely to talk to you.
