Hello again to everyone

I 've been looking for renting an apartment in Marrakesh, but so far had no much luck searching on line.

I ll be on Morocco from 20 August to 10 September approximately, and surfing on line i 've found those sites:

secondcasa

holiday rentals

rent holiday homes

All the above sites act as advertisers, and on their General Terms and Conditions state that
"All information on properties and all images of the properties and all other information on the properties are based exclusively on the information provided by the suppliers"

and that

"(They) can neither check the identity of the potential customers nor the correctness and completeness of this information. It cannot be guaranteed that potential customers do not provide incorrect information or that they are not the people who they claim to be."

So, although i have found some appartments withing our budget limit (i ll be travelling with a friend, that's why we thought searching for appartment), i m not really sure if it would be wise to go on for this.

So far i haven't find any agency online that can rent holiday appartments for short period of time.

What do you think?

Has anyone ever used those above mentioned sites, or any other similar, or has anyone rent an appartment in Morocco and especially Marrakesh?
And if so, how did you find the appartment?

Any idea, suggestion, help would be really welcomed.

Moreover, i see on the above sites, many ads that display appartments in region Tensift-El Haouz in Marrakesh, and in Gueliz.
Where are those places?

I assumed they are in the ville nouvelle -the new part of town-, but where exactly, and how far are they from the medina and jamma el fna?
If we find some accomodation there, how easy would it be to go to the square at nights and generally move around?

Thanks all of you in advance :)

At the risk of being accused of advertising, I own a riad in the medina (15 mins walk from the main square), which is available during the dates you want. You can see details at www.bullamore.co.uk<BR>Do contact me if this is the sort of thing you are looking for.

My friend, a cool 24 yr old Japenese guy, has an apartment there. He just got it, and is doing charitable work in the education sector for the govt for 2 yrs. He's interested in subletting one of his rooms for company so i will pass yr details on :o)

If you can't get something in the medina, Gueliz is certainly the best neighborhood, and is closest to Djemaa al Fna. It's the oldest part of the ville nouvelle. I usually stay much farther than that when I go to Marrakech (with friends), and it's still only a 20dh taxi ride.

The only place I'd really avoid if you want to be able to get to the square at night is the palmeraie. Unfortunately, the taxi service from there is quite terrible - and the major hotels (Club Med) have private shuttle service.

hello sir,
for the best place to sit in as i did twice is Gueliz as the first man said, cause it's the center city and it's nice and more calm though it's a little expensive than other places, but it's a place of relaxation and good temper.
good luck and good lravel too
