Hi,
Next week I'll be in transit in Casablanca.
Need help to have some contacts from a private taxi to show me around town during my 5 and half hour stop-over.
How much it should cost for this hiring?
Thanks a lot and great trips to everybody,
LP

.... while Casablanca is the biggest city with the largest population (maybe 4 million), it's spread-out over a great area, however the parts and places of most interest to tourists are in close proximity around the centre. So using a taxi is of limited use, snared in traffic mostly, the narrow streets and alleys of the Medina not accessible in places, so think of using the trams combined with short petite taxi trips(city-taxis),....and walking if possible. See this link on taxis in Morocco, there are two taxi types generally, the large un-metered grand taxi and the petite taxi restricted to city/town areas, all coloured coded and regulated......

Hi moroccotraveler,
Thank you so much for your tips.
I will read it carefully.
Do you think that in 5 hours i can manage to visit the old city and came back to the airport?
Happy travels,
LP

...... 5 hours is enough time to see some of the City. To suggest a way to do it, from the Airport take the train to Casa Voyageurs Station, the Train departs every hour on the hour, the trip takes 30 minutes. If you miss the train near the hour mark, find a bus or taxi instead, opposite Casa Voyageurs you find a tram-stop.....
Train-station at Airport.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4guUsiphhA
Research what you want to see from the Tram-map above at #1.
Taking the train back to the Airport keep in mind the train departs at 13 minutes past the hour every hour, this journey can be faster than the road trip at times..... see this link for train times.... http://www.oncf.ma/PrixEtReservation/Pages/BilletsNormaux.aspx
The Hassan ll Mosque is a spectacular site and sight, built partly over the Atlantic its dramatic setting is impressive. however it is the furtherest from Casa Voyageurs and the tram-line, west of the old Medina but within walking distance, just aim to see these two places.
