Hello All, Arriving in Marakesh on August 8th. Looking for some centrally located options to stay in while I get my bearings and make travel plans. Trying to stay for under 40 dollars U.S. Open to suggestions and also to meeting others.

$40 is plenty for decent accomodation in the medina. On arrival look in the alleys off Rue Bab Agnaou (itself full of eating/drinking places packed with tourists), on the edge of the Djema el Fna, for clean and friendly hotels/hostels.

if you want a basic place to stay, where you may meet other travellers, id suggest The Central Palace Hotel.

Warning, very baisc but in the heart of things, i have just left there and only paid 200dhms per room

have a great time
