Hiya,

Am looking for a recommendation on places to stay in Marrakesh.

I'm looking for something mid-range, central to the action, good facilities and nice view would be a plus, but most important, somewhere with amazing staff who can help arranging trips and excursions...

Any great ideas?

Maybe: Hotel Sherazade N. 3 Derb Djamaa

Or, a bit less expensive: Grand Hotel Tazi, or the ever-popular Hotel Ali (which does arrange trips but the staff can be grumpy).

Perhaps consider Riad Zara.

Just spent 5 nights there the first week of August and enjoyed it very much. Located in the medina, close to Bab Ailen and about a 15 minute walk from the Jemaa el Fna. The walk from the riad to the square was almost better than the square itself: entirely Moroccan without playing to visitors, lots of real life along the streets, etc.

Paid around 650 DH for a private room/double bed/private bath/nice breakfast. Rooftop terrace with city views. The owner, Monique, is French and her staff of two Moroccan women were most helpful and kind. Very good cooks, as well; dinner was wonderful.

Good luck and enjoy your visit.
