Hi

I will be arriving in marrakech on sat staying for 13 days, have looked through past postings but can´t answer to a couple of last things.

I plan to spend 4 days in marrakech, take bus to ourzazate, from here I would like to visit todra/dades gorge and travel on to merzouga to see dunes from there. Then take overnight bus from rissani to fez, to spend last few days in Fez before go home.

What I want to know is using public transport/guides is it possible to travel between ouarzazate - merzouga stopping along the way to visit todra/dades gorge (can I do both??). How would I do this bus/taxi?? Can anyone give me an idea of times and istances/prices for this? I like to travel as independantly as possible, but this time am pregnant so am trying to take it bit easy as well.

Any other information or recommendations would be appreciated.

I have a max of 6 days to spend on this part of trip, leaving myself 2 days for fez.

Also, veggie diet, easy in morocco??

thanks

R

Having read your posting three times, I still am not sure what you are asking and the time period involved. But yes, using bus and Grand Taxi, you can travel from Ouarzazate to Merzouga with stops in either or both the Dades and Todgra Gorges. You also could rent a car and drive it yourself, or hire a guide and car. Prices of course will depend on which of these options you select, whether you stay overnight, etc. Re veggie diet, I have no idea but this question has been discussed in this forum before.

Six days isn't much but it's OK. You could make a decision: either The Dades or Todra. I don't rate the Todra but the run up through the oasis is wonderful. Tinerhir also has more going for it than Boumalne du Dades. I'm surprised marocfan didn't rave abot the Dades because he usually does but I've not been there.

You get the CTM bus say from Marrakech to either Boumalne or Tinerhir. Grand taxis up to the Dades from Boumalne. Onward from there, you have a direct bus from Tinerhir to Rissani (across the desert) but I think it's alternate days. No problem. Bus or grand taxis from T. to Er Rachidia then same from there to Merzouga. With only six days, skip Ouazazarte.

Public transport is cheap in Morocco. 80DH to Tinerhir? About $10/£5. Could be more. 7 or 8 hours with lunch break, CTM quicker.

Wednesday souk at Boumalne, Monday at Tinerhir.

It's probably 5 hours or so Tinerhir to Rissani, depending on the route and how long you wait for a bus from Er Rachidia. If it's a wait, you get a grand taxi.

That help? Have fun.
