hi there,
i off to marrakesh second week of september - any suggestion for a godd cheap guest house?
i heard abotu ali guest house - anybody been there? i need a clean place in the medina for 3 nights

The Hotel Ali is very popular and is less than a block from the Jemaa' el-Fna...but the staff can be pretty grumpy. The Grand Hotel Tazi is nearby and is another inexpensive option.

We've stay in cheap and good hotels in Morocco and have never stayed in one that wasn't clean.

Hey

I'm going to be in Marrakesh at the same time. We've booked a stay at Jnane Mogadir http://www.jnanemogador.com/ I found them from the lonely planet website - they were recommended as the best budget accommodation in Marrakesh and other reviews seem pretty high of them. They'r right by the main square too.

Although you may find it hard getting a place - contact them before you go to check rooms i reckon....

many thanks for your help - we just come back from a lonf weekend and we stayed in Ali guest house - very clean, cheap, and well the people are nto that bad as u said. yes a bit more smiling but overhall very good 3 nights - location great !! thanks again - morocco rock !!!
