...... it's important to know what time you arrive as night-time rates may apply.!

As you are 4 passengers, you need to take a "Grand Taxi" as the city petite taxis take just 3 passengers. Grand Taxies are un-metered while the petite taxis are. When you say "behind Jemma el Fna" is it in the Medina or the "New-Town" Gueliz.? depend on how far the taxi needs to travel, the fare varies..... between 100-250Mad. and take account of the night rate if it applies.
For taxis... http://reversehomesickness.com/africa/taxi-fares-morocco/

A one-way-circuit City-bus service (No.19) might do, study the route here.....

...... hi khamlia, unfortunately the No 19 doesn't go into the Medina or to the east-side of Gueliz, so probably not much use to nowornever.

But moroccotraveler, if I follow this gray line on the Alsa map it seems like it is going near Medina, not exactly, but almost?

P.S. yes, it goes to Terminus Arset el Bilk and it is not far from Jemaa el-Fna

Of course #19 goes into the medina. Points 4, 5, 6 and 7 on the map below are in the medina.

....... of course you'er right, as the PO wants to get "behind Jemaa el Fna" and the No.19 doesn't go beyond Bab Doukkla or Place Jemma el Fna, I considered it of little use. I've confused the built-up Souk and residential areas as the Medina in my rush to answer. The 19 route is quite short, the one-way-circuit confuses passengers at times often trying to find bus-stops on the opposite side of the roads.
Still don't know exactly where nowornever is trying to get to.
