Hello everyone, this question in a way is similar to asking how long is a piece of string, however, myself and two friends are going to Morocco from the UK 18th - 26th March 2008. Basically flying into Fez, working our way along to Meknes and Casablanca and down to Marrakech. Possible dry trips to the Atlas Mountains and Essouira at some point perhaps. I've checked out hostel prices and they seem to be around £10-£15 per night (US$20-30), and I was just wondering how much food, drinks, general spending money would amount to. Obviously this could be any figure but perhaps people who have been there and are reading this would enlighten me as to the amount, roughly, they spent on having a darn good time!

Many thanks!

I would say that to have a darn good time whilst staying in cheapie hotels (the prices you mentioned or even less sometimes), you'd want to budget at least $60 a day - that's assuming you're going to eat out 2/3 meals, have a couple coffees, and perhaps drink alcohol sometimes (keep in mind, this can be cheap - if you buy wine and bring it to your hotel room - or crazy expensive if you go to nightclubs or upscale hotel bars).
