Hello,

We're headed to Marrakesh at the end of April and would like to do the Imlil to Setti Fatma trek. About ten years ago I did this same trek with a friend who was well travelled in Morocco. We just showed up to Imlil and found a guide without booking anything in advance. I can't remember how much it cost at the time.

Has anybody recently booked treks directly from Imlil? Are the prices different from pre booking them online? It looks like online the going rate for this trek is 160 euros. Would this price go down if we booked from imlil?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

160€ (1600 dh) for one person or more? Including transport from Marrakech and return, or not?

Morocco is way off being a country with universal Internet adoption, the companies that sell you tours in advance are probably going to be more expensive than negotiating face-to-face with a guide.

The cheapest way to do this is to get public transport to Imlil (50 dh), then visit the guides office. A guide is probably 400-500 dh/day, a muleteer with mule who will act as cook will be 300-350 dh/day, accommodation will typically be 160-200 dh/night/per person. On a one-way trip you may need to take into account that the guide and muleteer have to spend another day walking back.
