How many attempted bombings have there in Canada, US and England? Are those supposed to be "safe" countries? Who would've thought that New York, London, Madrid, Bali, etc would be home to terrorist bombings??? If it's going to happen, it's going to happen...you can't live your life in fear.

Ignore "friendship tours" and add him to the list of tour operators NOT to patronize. Advertising in this forum is prohibited.

look at in perspective I live in Baltimore in USA. We have had 260 murders in this city at this point in the year. we average 1 to 1 and 1/2 murders a day in our 1 city and "we are a safe country" Suicide bombers who have only managed to blow themselves up do not particularly upset me.

Murder rate in the US: around 5 per 100 000, in Canada around 2, England and France around 1.6, New Zealand and Oz around 1.3 and Morocco??? Well, it seems to be around 0.5

Yet thanks to many of the western countries listed above particularly the US. WE should all be very scared of terrorism and be fighting the war on terror... Might want to focus on crimes at home instead of meddling in other people's affair. It could be less expensive and might save more lives...

I would like to go to Morocco some day but I wouldn't discount any travel warnings as some posters unfortunately did here. We don't have to live our lives in fear either, but we mustn't forget that as tourists we are always easily observed and paid attention to. The murder rate in the US has to do nothing with the subject dealt here since as a tourist in the US you are not specifically targeted to be the next victim whereas in Morocco some terrorists would like to lay their hands on tourists. Said so, it doesn't mean people should not visit Morocco but they should be more careful and vigilant.

Yeah I think it's best that you and those who agree with you to stay home, where the gun violence targets residents as opposed to tourist...sheesh the ignorance.

That's for me to decide. Thank you anyway for the advice !

It is exactly because as a tourist you are more viligiant and aware that you are often safer than at home. In terms of bombing risks then the odds of at it happening are so small that it wouldn't feature in my decision. Personally I would feel more scared to be in a major city n the UK

I posted this question before i left to morocco. I am in Morocco and trust me this country is a much safer place than north america or Europe. I have spent 1 week in this beautiful country. People are so nice and friendly. The western world paints a different picture but in reality this country is so safe. Currently I am in marrakkesh and i can walk at night around 2am in the streets and its safe. (you will see family with kids enjoying the outdoors even at 12 Midnight while in toronto you will see police cruzing the streets) People are so friendly and always willing to help me. I only speak english and people are willing to show me directions, get a taxi, talk with the driver and get me to the correct location. People in the riad are friendly. I did a 4 day trip in to the Sahara desert and even in the remort part still people showed respect and helped me;

i want to thank Andonemorefortheroad, witchdoctor, Nigeladvisor, Cocodrilo, GBHK and the others for giving me the real picture of the world we live.

Trust me this country is safe than Toronto, newyork, LA or London. And the best part is the people are really friendly and helpful and always respect you. so all you have to do is respect the culture and religions in the country you visit and you will get back respect from the local community.

Thanks again for helping a narrow minded person like me to look at the broder picture and enjoy life while travling the world, meeting new friends and learning new cultures;

Thank you very much
