Hi,

Has anyone been to the Continental recently? Is it still worth a visit? Any other mid-range hotel you would recommend?

Thanks,
G

Admittedly I have never stayed in the Continental as it seemed to suffer from a lack of updating and was still cashing in on its fading glory (having appeared in the Bertolucci film "Sheltering Sky" didn't hurt either). I've always found the Ibn Battouta clean, cheap, and friendly, and its across from the Murnia, of William S. Burroughs fame, if that matters to you.

I haven't stayed there, but I visit for a soda every time I'm in Tangier (disappointingly, they don't have an alcohol license, which is too bad given their excellent location!).

The view is breathtaking, the staff is really friendly, but it seems to host only package tourists nowadays. I don't know about prices.

It's completely booked for the upcoming Jazz Festival.

Thanks for the recommendations! I will try Ibn Batouta.
