Hello All!
My boyriend and I will be in Marrakesh in early september. He has a hankering to do a balloon ride, i guess out of Marrakesh or somewhere in the Atlas mountains. I understand that this will probably cost an awful lot of money...
Does anyone know how easy this is to arrange in-country. If anyone has any names of some good operators that i could contact then that would be great.
Also anyone know how much it will cost? If anyone has been have they any tips, was it worth the money?!?
As i'm scared of heights am i out of my tiny little mind?!

Sounds like fun - I don't like heights either but I'd like to balloon ride one - don't look down, don't panic. (there was another email about this last week - someone had good info on it).

I went ballooning once in Cappadocia, in central Turkey. I was nervous about it beforehand---if you watch from the ground and see that basket floating so high up, it looks scary. But if you're actually in the basket looking down, it's curiously non-scary. You gently float around in a way that doesn't seem particularly risky. I was actually a little disappointed that it didn't give me a little more of a danger rush! It was expensive though---around $175 for an hour or so in the air, and this was some years ago.
