Hello all,

I will be there around mid July for a week. I hear many amazing things about Morocco, however, I am having difficulty choosing. Many people recommend against trying to hit every city and rather suggest staying in one city and exploring which I am completely fine with. If there is one thing I would like to try is the Sahara desert tours.

Furthermore, it seems to me that Fez is the destination for one to experience the authentic culture and history of Morocco while Marrakech is a bit more touristy yet has beautiful night life. What is your opinion? Is there a particular city I should remain in or try to do both?

Any advice on these topics would be fantastic! Thank you.

Mid July is guaranteed to be hot as hell, so you must forget about going near the desert. Or Fez, or Marrakech.
Best to choose a location on the Atlantic coast, such as Essaouira or El Jadida, and stay there. You only have a week, so relax and enjoy it.
Where will you arrive and depart Morocco?
If this is Casablanca, then my advice to you is good.

I am agree, in the desert it will be too hot, but it depends of how you manage it. Anyway, I am afraid that with your one week only you have not much time for such trip either. As David advise you, stay near the coast, inside the city it will be terrible hot, not only in the desert.
But if you want to see Marrakech or Fes then you have do this you prefer to do. If more touristy life go to Marrakech, if you want have more calm, go to Fes. On other side in June there are anyway not so many tourists as in Spring or Autumn for example.

We travel because we need to. Because the distance and difference are the secret tonics to the creativity. When we get home, home is still the same, but something in our minds has changed, and that changes everything.

As suggested and if it's possible, it will be better to choose May-June or September-October because the temperature will be too high to be pleasant. A trip in the desert during July-Augustus will be really unpleasant.

You should definitely have to check FEZ, MARRAKECH AND AGADIR.
they are the best cities arounf Morocco i think you saty stay 3 days in Fez, 2 days in Marrakech and 3 days in Agadir.
there is so much to see in Fez and Agadir, and in Marrakech you can enjoy the night life.
and to be honest, however you do it, morocco is awesome and you l=will love it.

Yes, the beach.
For the souk, Fes and Marrakech are not on the same level.
Agadir is only a beach destination and nothing more.
