Hello, I am travelling in Morocco in january. I live in NYC and I wanted to explore the possibility of flying to Madrid or London and then from there to Morocco. I realize this might not be cheaper than going straight from New York but I want to at least check it out. I have no idea what the cheapie european airlines are so I was hoping to find the names or websites of airlines which fly to Morocco so I can dig around a bit.
Thanks a lot

easyjet and ryanair both fly from Europe to Morocco, Thmson Fly does Manchester to Marrakech also

I also wanted to recommend Ryan Air flying from England or Germany. But if you are in Spain already you can also just take the ferry from Algeciras to Tanger or Ceuta.
Getting from Madrid to Algeciras takes a long while, and of course if your destination is any other city than Tangier then you have the onward journey (i.e. 5 hrs to Fes, 10 hrs to Marrakesh by train) to consider. Flying is quicker and usually cheaper. Iberia operates flights from Madrid to Fez, Casablanca, or Marrakesh.

Visit Morocco.WhichBudget.com as it lists budget airlines to and from different places. Especially useful as additional budget airlines start flying into
...plus www.Atlas-blue.com, www.clickair.es, www.mytravellite.com.,www.thomsonfly.com. You can also fly to Sevilla, Jerez or Malaga and go from there by bus to Algeciras and by ferry to Tanger.

Actually, it probably would be cheaper than flying NYC to Morocco direct. If you get a good deal from a city in the US to Madrid, snatch it up - Madrid to Tangier overland is cheap and easy - or you can always get cheapie flights from Paris or London to Marrakesh (or sometimes Fez or Casa).
Taking the train and ferry from London to Paris to Morocco takes just over 48 hours and is an experience in itself. Why not stop off to see Paris or Madrid on the way? Though it's not something you do to save money directly.
www.seat61.com/Morocco.htm</a> has all the train and ferry times, fares, photos, and how to buy tickets.
As a Brit who lives near London, I've been to Morocco two or three times and have always taken the train and ferry there and back via Paris and Madrid, I have never bothered to take a flight.
