Departing from Fes I am wanting to do some hiking in the foothills of the Middle atlas to Zaoura D'Ifrane

I would also like to stay overnight at a Gite in Oued Ifrane . I anticipate the hiking to be about 5hrs

Has anyone done this ? Do we need a guide? how do we book the Gite?
